What we offer
Magnetic Measurement Lab offers:
- Hall probe measurement bench, mounted on a 5 axis moving system on a granite table. Positioning precision down to 10 µm and measurement sensitivity of 0,01%.
- Rotating coil to measure multipolar fields with accuracy with respect to the fundamental harmonic of 3×10-4. The position of the coil is measured through a high resolution enconder with angle measurement accuracy of 0.2mrad. The instrument will be provided with a positioning of the magnet through a 5 axis motorized system
- A stretched wire, for the fiducialization of the magnets, to measure the integral field and to measure multipoles. The magnetic center can be determined with a precision of 2 µm while the integral field will be measured with an accuracy of 0.2 G/m
- Electromagnetic design of normal conducting magnets with 2D and 3D software.
Technology
The magnetic measurement lab is able to fully characterize electromagnes such as dipoles, quadrupoles, steerers correctors and any kind of high order mode magnet. The carachterization comprises field map, harmonic analysis and integral field measurements. The lab i salso equipped with a wide range of high stability power supplies, gauss meter and instrumentation of electrical measurement at high precision.
Potential users
Magnets are widely used in any kind of particle accelerator to bend and/or focus the particle beam and also in detectors. Therefore all the applications of particle accelerator such as:
research, medical devices, industrial accelerator can benefit of the instrument and expertise of this laboratory.
